AAA (American Automobile Assoc.) recently did a poll of its membership concerning the future of personal transportation. Members were given 4 choices and asked to pick one of the four. Here are the results:
- 83% favored Extensive public transit
- 7% favored Auotpilot in all vehicles
- 6% favored Those long-promised flying cars
- 4% favored Armadas of Segways
While this study is hardly statistically valid, it is perhaps significant that auto drivers opted so overwhelmingly for public transit. And for good reason. Public transit is safer, more efficient overall, and the groundwork is already in place.
